2016|17 Annual Report Fraunhofer IGB - CARBOPREC – carbon fibers from renewable resources

3 4 Contact carried out in the IGB’s Department of Interfacial Engineering and Materials Science, the evidence of reaction was demon- strated, lignin derivatization at Fraunhofer CBP was scaled to the kilogram scale and further optimized. The reaction in plasma leads to a marked increase in the molecular weight in the lignin derivative and thus to the desired cross-linking. In addition to iber stabilization, which is currently being studied in the project, the approach also offers opportunities in other applications. Dr. rer. nat.
