The participation of several Fraunhofer Institutes in the project had a positive influence on internal cooperation The ustainability etwork intends to be more active as an initiator, furnishing a pool of ideas in liaising between research, government policy, and society in the future, and advocating positions on important topics. As an example, the Network took part in the consulta- tive process of the Citizen Science Strategy 2020 project for Germany in 2015. Fraunhofer-wide dialog for the future Fraunhofer IGB itself is a stakeholder within the greater Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. For example, women are strongly represented in management positions at IGB and contribute their experience to corporate social responsibility issues. Fol- lowing publication of the Sustainability Report in 2014, the further development of sustainable management practices in the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft was discussed in a dialog held at Fraunhofer headquarters with representatives from sci- ence, commerce, government, and society. It was clear here as well that not just pioneering innovation is expected from Fraunhofer, but also that the organization comes to terms with its societal impact in particular. This task is now being incorporated into projects more. Dr. rer. nat.
